​I started music early in my life, coming from a musical family in Yuma Az.  With a long history of music I was a child prodigy (self- taught). I started writing songs, playing the piano, guitar, drums and vocals at the age of 4 yrs old. At 11 yrs. old I got signed to Aglobe Records / Motown Productions in Los Angeles. My teacher was writer/producer music legend Mike Curb ( Curb Records ) Mike produced the Evaros first full length LP in 1976 which contained the Evaros first hit record "Mama Said". Mike became a fixture in my early years. At age 17 yrs old my unique writing style landed me 1st. runner up in "The American Song Festival" with "Im On Fire" which was recorded by CBS Records Multi-Platinum R&B Group "Champaign". In 1981 "Im On Fire" reached number 16 on Billboards Singles Hot 100 Chart. With the advice from my friend, teacher, mentor and publishing giant Lester Sills said to me "Gene Concentrate on your production  and songwriting and vocals. Following Lesters advice I went on to write, produce and perform a string of songs in the motion picture and record industry. I wrote, produced and performed "What A Love What A Life" which landed in a Robert De Niro movie "Jacknife" staring Kathy Baker and Ed Harris. I went on to write, produce and perform songs in Sony Pictures Films "The Finest Hour" staring Rob Lowe and Tracy Griffith, the film "Lambada "The Forbidden Dance" staring Laura Herring. The film "Mirror Mirror" on Starz/Anchor Bays starring Karen Black and Yvonne De Carlo. Paul Verhoevens Sci-Fi classic "Total Recall" starring Arnold Schwarzeneggar  and Full Moon Ent. Sci-Fi films "Doctor Mordrid" and "Mandriod". First Look Ent./Zola /Rosen /Bender film "Midnight Kiss", Bci/Eclipse William Sachs film "Spooky House " starring Ben Kingsley and Mercedes Ruel. I also have work that has appeared in the following soap operas One Life To Live, Another World, The Young and The Restless and All My Children. My work has been placed in Sporting Events "NBC World Jet Ski Championship NBC Celebrity Golf Series".  Some of Pop Music Greats I have worked with are Tina Turner, Andy Summers (The Police) Fee Waybil (The Tubes) Ike Turner,Richard Marx, Poison, Potna Duce, Chaka Khan, Scarlet and Black, the late Billy Preston, Eddie Kindricks, the late ark St. James (Kiss) Bobby Womack,. Latin Multi- Platinum Artist Luis Enrique, Huey Dunbar, wrote and produced 2 sides (English and Spanish Sony BMG Latin sister group HA*SH and wrote, performed and produce for Sony the cd for Maria Matto "Detras Del Amor". that also features the artist Maria with 2 English songs on her Spanish cd. I was blessed to have written, performed and produced the cd  "Esperanza"  "Hope" for Universal Latin Inspirational Artist Tony Melendez.. The song Titled "Juan Pablo El Grande" is a song that we wrote for the late Pope John Paul and we performed the song live for world wide tv at the Latin Billboard Award Show in the Miami Arena .WOW what an amazing night! I won Song of the Year in 2009 at the Southwest Latin Music Award Show with another sister group named Sorela. My son Gene Jr, and I wrote, performed and produced the song "Past Pain" that was the last song featured on the final episode of Deadliest Catch aired on Discovery Channel a NBC hit t.v. show. I completed the music score for Divine Signs Motion Picture "As I Stand" an inspirational film due out in Nov. of 2012.

This is just a brief insight of my work history and abilities in the music world.  Along with all this knowledge my mastered tech skills include, but not limited to, Record Producer, Songwriter, Vocalist, Vocal Teacher and Music Teacher, Pianist, Guitars, Drums, Bass, Percussion, Arranger, Production and Keyboard Programmer, Engineer in Logic Pro 9, Pro Tools, Cubebase, SSL, Neve and Digital Performer. Project Coordinator, (Film, Radio and Music Production in studio and live stage performance) Computer Music Programmer (all instruments including Strings) and M.I. Tech.
